Five for Friday

Thanks for the great linky party!

Wow! What great students!  My kiddos are doing wonderful with their AR reading.  Most of the students enjoy the time to get lost in a book. It is so heart warming to see and hear their excitement when they reach another AR level.

Technically this is from last Friday but you can relate to how crazy a teacher's week can be.
Our local fire department prepared a fantastic morning of learning for our first, second, and third grade students!  These men are fabulous, most of them took the day off of work to volunteer their time for our fire safety day.  Our school is very fortunate to have our very own firefighter PE teacher.  He was the organizer of the event.  Thank you, Mr. Peters!!!

I love these new black storage cubes I picked up at Walmart super late in the summer.  I haven't put anything in the cubes yet, I'm in no hurry.

Our intervention groups are up and running!  We had so many beginning of the year assessments-aaahhh.
It is so fun to have a set intervention group.  Although it is our hope that students will be able to move from the more directed groups to the higher level thinking groups.
The Fry Words app is a great tool for my students.  Occasionally we have a few minutes at the end of our intervention lesson to work on an app or play a high frequency word game.

Finally, here is a FREEBIE Rachel and I created to go along with the Journeys Henry and Mudge units.  The product includes poke cards and QR codes
