How is it that the weeks seem to be getting filled up with more and more things to do? Isn't it called winding down the school year?
Here goes my five things from the week...
1 - Our 2nd grade spent a fantastic day at Lake Lundgren for one of our end of the year field trips. Mr. Lorenz did a great job keeping the student entertained while he taught them and me a lot about the soil in Wisconsin.
Mrs. Bartels once again entertained our 2nd graders with her skins and skulls discussion. The hands on time is always the favorite part. We really appreciate Mrs. Bartels for bringing this great presentation to us!
2 - We worked on arrays this week. Graph paper and funny little green things made for interesting learning time.
3 - AR reading - the kiddos have been working hard all year! As students pass a particular level they are awarded a ribbon or a jewel. This student went above and beyond and read numerous higher level books from an assigned list.
This 2nd grade teacher is very proud of the accomplishments of her students!
Thank you Mrs. Mongin for taking the extra time to manage the ribbons and jewels at our elementary school!
4 - My week ended with a call from the director at the M&M Foundation. Two co-workers and I wrote a grant to fund two family literacy nights for the 2016-2017 school year. Our grant was funded!!!
It will be a blessing to have the events funded and not have the teachers and staff come up with donations.
Thank you, M&M Foundation!!!
5 - Check out my new math product - Let's Get Buggy Math Centers - it is ready to print and go (well maybe laminate, then go). The centers will be perfect for the end of the year and review many 2nd grade skills.
You can grab your copy for 50% off in my TpT store!
Thanks for hosting!
Enjoy the weekend,
